Kamaitachi is one of those characters in Nioh 3 who is referred to as a Formidable Enemy. He is not a boss, although fighting him can sometimes be quite unpleasant. If you’re interested in a real boss and a challenging battle, check out the material on Takeda Shingen.

You will see the location where you can find Kamaitachi. This will be your first encounter with him. Later, while completing side quests, you will have another opportunity to defeat this boss. Kamaitachi’s main weakness is your long-range attacks with shurikens and kunai. Here, I use Uncanny Bolt because it’s usually in my build, but it’s very ineffective against Kamaitachi.

I just happened to encounter this enemy and am trying to finish the battle on my first try. But if I had the opportunity, I would replace Uncanny Bolt with a fire shuriken. I am sure this weapon is most effective against this boss.

The damage caused by throwing objects is simply phenomenal. It may depend on the level at which you encounter this boss, but I don’t think there is any need to approach the enemy here. Long-range attacks will do the trick. Seeing such great damage from throwing objects, I decided not to use my ultimate ability in this fight. Although, perhaps I was wrong, because then this duel would have ended twice as fast.

I continue to stay at a great distance from the enemy and wait for the right moment to make a perfect dodge and replenish my supply of throwing objects. And here, not everything is so simple. Some of Kamaitachi’s attacks really caught me off guard. I wasn’t prepared for this enemy to be so capable, so I took damage many times. The only plus is that all of the enemy’s attacks are not strong, and you will always have time to restore your health.

In fact, Kamaitachi’s behavior is very consistent with his appearance. It seems that he moves slowly, and then suddenly attacks, leaving you no time to react. Predatory animals behave in the same way, attacking very quickly. Actually, I wanted to take a closer look at how the enemy behaves, because the animation of his movements is quite interesting and even mesmerizing. Nevertheless, with perfect dodging, you can defeat this boss quite easily. The tactics that worked against other bosses also show good results here.
