Crimson Desert has very unusual controls even a bit unconventional – and you might find it hard to get used to them at the start of the game. That’s why I’ll explain in detail below how to complete the “Clean the Chimney” quest, where you need to equip the broom, since this is where players most often run into trouble.

Crimson Desert how to equip the broom

You’ll be asked to clean the fireplace of this couple as part of an adventure quest in Crimson Desert. You’ll first need to grab a broom. You’ll find it right next to the entrance of the building. Open your inventory, and place the broom into the correct slot. You’ll then need to move to the opposite side of the home. You’ll find an ideal spot for climbing onto the roof. Once you are on the roof, do not forget to equip your tools. I use the left button to select an item.

The next step is the most difficult: you have to jump up onto the chimney. Hold down the LB key, keep it pressed and move the camera to roughly the middle of the chimney. You will see a hint somewhere near here. Press RB to complete the mission.

Then, you will be taken to a cutscene where you can listen to more dialogue and complete the mission. You’ll also receive a reward. I hope that I don’t have to complain about the controls for too long, and I will get used them quickly.
