The Fated Land quest becomes available immediately after you exit the Eternal Rift for the first time during The Hamamatsu Incident. Ii Naotora will talk to you and Fated Land will be unlocked. You can complete this quest whenever you want. Let me remind you that earlier I told you how to find and defeat master Fuma Kotaro.
Fated Land side quest
To begin, you need to talk to Ii Naotora and then explore Ryotan Temple. I won’t show you the route in detail, as I’m sure you’ll find your way and want to explore every corner to collect all the rewards in this place.

Nioh 3 Ryomen Sukuna boss fight
At the end, you will reach the final task, called The Apparition of Ryotan Temple. This is your last and most difficult challenge in this task. Enter the territory, where the strange creature Ryomen Sukuna awaits you. You will see that this enemy has no back. Instead of a back, it has another front side with different abilities and attacks. I won’t say that this enemy is difficult, but you can’t call it too easy either. It looks massive and scary, so at first you need to adapt to the enemy’s attacks and understand what to expect from the boss.
One side of the enemy is holding a bow, which means they will attack from a distance. So we prepare to dodge. The first few shots hit, and I realize that they do very little damage. That means you don’t have to worry about the enemy defeating you with a single shot or blow. The other part of the boss is holding a melee weapon. In this battle, you have a partner, Ii Naotora, but don’t rely on her to do all the work for you.
This character is here more for statistics, and you have to deal the main damage to the boss yourself. While I’m looking at the enemy’s attacks, I’ve quietly used up all my Ninja Tools. I should mention that I came to Ryomen Sukuna almost as soon as he became available, so many of my ninja’s useful abilities are still inactive.

Ultimate ability against Ryomen Sukuna boss
Then I ran out of projectiles, I activated my ultimate ability. Next, I use a simple but effective attack. It’s a jump and a heavy attack. The character deals quite a lot of damage to the enemy, and in general, this is the main damage that the boss will receive from me. Also, during the ultimate ability, all throwing items will be restored. Since Ryomen Sukuna does not attack very much, my ultimate ability lasts quite a long time, and during this time, the enemy’s health bar steadily decreases.
At this stage, it becomes clear that the enemy will be defeated on the first try. The main thing here is to move correctly and not let yourself get hurt. The enemy’s attacks are so slow that I can’t manage to dodge perfectly. But that’s okay. When you run out of throwing items, you can run up to the boss and deal some damage in close combat to restore your Ninja Tools.
After Ryomen Sukuna is defeated, you need to talk to Ii Naotora to complete the main quest and receive your reward.
