The mission at Scholastone Institute in Crimson Desert consists of several quests, a puzzle, and a simple boss fight. This series of in-game quests can be frustrating, since it’s not always clear what you’re supposed to do. Below, I’ll walk you through how to complete all the quests in detail, and then defeat the final boss, Tenebrum, with ease.

Activate the lock device switch underground

First, you need to activate the lock device switch underground. There’s already a hint in the mission. You need to go down one floor. The easiest way to do this is right here, using your wings. On this floor, you’ll find a board with a puzzle. Your task is to ensure that all the elements on the board are pressed.

After that, the panel will open and you’ll be able to start the system. Once you do this, you’ll see a short scene showing how the mechanism starts up and the dome opens above you. Next, you need to go upstairs and complete the next task, which is called “Insert the batteries into the device.”

Insert the batteries into the device

Once you reach the top, you need to find four energy cubes. They are located opposite the columns. Using Axiom Force, grab a cube and lift it up to the opening. You’ll need to rotate the cubes slightly to get them into the correct position. When you first look at the cube, you’ll see a diamond drawn on the top face, with a square inscribed inside it and four glowing dots at the corners.

This face should be facing outward when you place the cube in the column. When you bring the cube up to the column, release it and then use Force Palm to drive the cube into the column’s opening. You’ll see a beam emanating from this column toward the sphere in the center of the location. You need to walk around the perimeter of this device and place all four cubes in their respective positions within the columns.

Use Axiom Force to remove the unstable core

Next, you’ll watch the scene again where the arrogant Octavius tries to put his plan into action. From the very first seconds, it will be clear that this is a bad idea and that what happens next is very dangerous for those around him. But Octavius can’t be stopped or dissuaded, so you’ll have to help him again move the sphere into the portal that has opened up ahead.

Use Axiom Force to grab the sphere, then hold down the control button to set it in motion. Once the sphere starts moving and flies into the portal, you’ll see the next scene where Octavius disintegrates into atoms and also flies into the portal. It seems something didn’t go according to plan. Instead of a grand revelation, a dark mass of energy appears before you. It’s very fast and moves erratically, firing dark beams. This is the boss Tenebrum, whom you must now defeat.

How to beat Tenebrum Crimson Desert

But it’s actually very easy to do, so don’t worry. A wind current has formed in the center of the device, and you’ll be able to fly there. Use your wings to take off, and as soon as you get close to Tenebrum, use Force Palm. You’ll be surprised and maybe even delighted to see that this strike deals a massive amount of damage to your opponent. After the strike, the boss always hits me in return; you might be able to dodge it, but it doesn’t do much damage, so I’m not worried about it. You’ll need to repeat three Force Palm strikes in the air to destroy Tenebrum.
