Preparation for battle with Jakotsu-baba in Nioh 3

During the preparation stage, you need to learn the ninja skills called Uncanny Bolt and Kunai. You only need 2 Ninja Points for this, and I hope you have them. This skill deals the most damage to your opponent, and the kunai is an additional weapon to the shurikens you already have. Next, you need to activate these skills. Go to the menu as I show you and activate the necessary skills.

Also, before the battle begins, you must have your ultimate ability active and all your supplies replenished. Your shurikens and kunai will be replenished in battle when you deal damage to your opponent in close combat. Before the battle begins, ensure that you have a full arsenal of weapons.

Jakotsu-baba boss fight in Nioh 3

Before you can win, you need to learn a little about Jakotsu-baba’s behavior. You can see that the boss has two snakes. The left one attacks with ice. The right one attacks with fire. When one snake is active, the other does not participate in the fight. The active snake is always higher up, as if it were protruding. The fire snake’s attacks are easier to dodge, so during the fire period, you should approach the boss and damage it.

The best option is to learn how to get behind Jakotsu-baba to deal as much damage as possible. Ideally, you should jump away from it earlier, but I deliberately choose to take a little damage in order to deal more damage to the boss.

When the ice snake is active, I almost always defend myself with a block and try to move to a long distance to attack Jakotsu-baba with the Uncanny Bolt skill, throwing shurikens and kunai. The first time the ice snake appears, I try to use all my throwing items. But if that doesn’t work and the fire snake is active again, I combine attacks with throwing items. Pay special attention to the fire breath. To avoid it, you need to be either very close to the enemy or very far away. You can also try to simply jump over the breath, but under no circumstances should you move in the direction of the fire.

Next is an important point about perfectly parrying Jakotsu-baba’s red attacks. You probably know that when the boss attacks with a red attack, it is impossible to block it. You can only dodge or switch to another mode in time to shock your opponent.

When the boss goes into night mode, everything around him becomes dark. I use my ultimate ability to inflict as much damage as possible on Jakotsu-baba. In this mode, I attack by pressing jump, followed by a heavy attack. When using two swords, this combination ends with a powerful jump that deals a lot of damage to the enemy, especially if the attack comes from behind.

There is also a chance that during ultimate mode, you will break the crystal that appears on the central snake. In dark mode, the boss gets another snake with a crystal on its head. If you can’t break it, you need to move away and aim at the crystal. I use a bow for this. You can also throw kunai or shuriken again. The good news is that during the ultimate ability, you will completely restore your entire throwing arsenal.

Each battle is unique. But if you get a chance to get behind Jakotsu-baba and deal a lot of damage, don’t hesitate to do so. After coming out of dark mode, the boss won’t have much health left, and you’ll have a full arsenal of throwing weapons. At the end of the battle, Jakotsu-baba may switch back to dark mode.

If you have run out of arrows, it will be difficult to break the crystal, but you can try to simply finish off the boss. Special attention should be paid to the central snake, which moves far forward and grabs you. Learn to see this action and simply dodge it in advance.

I won’t say it will be an easy victory. You’ll need a few tries to learn Jakotsu-baba’s moves, spot them in time, and react correctly. But if, like me, you’re not that skilled at Nioh 3 and still find it difficult to understand the mechanics of the samurai with ki recovery, the ninja mode with many throwing objects will help you win this battle.
