My encounter with Kajiwara Kagetoki in Nioh 3 came as an unpleasant surprise. To cut to the chase, I defeated this opponent on my first try, but I actually regretted it after the victory. Kajiwara Kagetoki Boss Fight Guide in Nioh 3 – Why Ninja Tools Barely Work

Kajiwara Kagetoki’s ability to block and dodge shurikens was evident almost immediately in the first few seconds of the fight. This is a major problem with my current build. I use my Ninja Tools and stay away from the enemy. These items are useless in this battle. If I were given a second chance to fight this boss, I would pick the Gunpowder Bomb, Fire Shuriken and Shrapnel Bomb.

These items will still deal damage, even if they are blocked by the boss. With these three Ninja Tools you can also maintain the fire debuff for a very long time. Enenra and Bloodedge Demon are great options if you do not have Demon of Envy yet. The allies will set the boss ablaze, but you must keep the burn debuff active to ensure that the boss is constantly being damaged.

How to Beat Kajiwara Kagetoki in Nioh 3 – Boss Mechanics and Yokai Summons

The boss will summon a variety of yokai to help in the battle. This can make the fight much more difficult. The summoned yokai will constantly launch attacks at you, so it’s important to dodge them. Kajiwara Kagetoki also uses magic and various debuffs, as well as two axes he can throw. The boss has a wide range of attacks. It’s good to know that you have a partner in this fight who can distract the boss, and deal a little damage.

Not much but better than nothing. In this fight, I use aerial attacks a lot because I have dual swords. This attack is not always successful, as the boss is very agile. However, when it is, the damage done to the boss increases. You should also have your ultimate ability fully charged before you enter this battle.

You can use this ability to deal significant damage and restore Ninja Tools at any time. It’s a shame I didn’t use that ability in this fight. I was there to scout and see how the battle would unfold, but accidentally I defeated the enemy.

Nioh 3 Kajiwara Kagetoki Strategy – A Lucky Last-Second Victory

We were both exhausted by the end. The boss had very little health and I was out of health potions. It was probably luck that saved me. I had lost the battle and should have come back to fight him again, better prepared. To my surprise, as soon as my health bar reached zero, I was able to land the winning blow. At that moment, I realized that my strategy had failed, and I regretted it.

This battle was interesting because it made me think outside of the box. I had to react to the events that unfolded rather than stick to a rigid plan. It was a bit of improvisation.
