Mezuki is a boss in the game Nioh 3. I don’t even know what this creature looks like. Its head resembles a horse’s, but with horns. It also walks on only its two hind legs, while holding a huge weapon in its front legs. When I first encountered this boss, I thought I would have to struggle with it for a long time. But to my surprise, I defeated it on my first try. Even though I made a lot of mistakes during the fight and took damage from the enemy. In the previous article, we discussed how to defeat Gaki Chief.
Ninja Playstyle and Core Strategy
Next, I will share the main points that helped me defeat Mezuki. I usually play in ninja mode and do not plan to switch to samurai mode yet, although in some cases it would make the task much easier. Nevertheless, the ninja play style requires you to be able to dodge in time. I am not yet proficient in this technique, but I prefer the dodging gameplay, so I am trying to master this style of play.
In most cases, I try to throw projectile weapons at my opponent from a distance. I use a regular kunai, a regular shuriken, and the Uncanny Bolt skill. The important thing is that when you dodge perfectly, you replenish most of these supplies. Of course, to do this, you need to learn the appropriate skill in the ninja branch. It is extremely important for the ninja mode and is called Evade.

Why Mezuki Is an Easy Boss
In fact, Mezuki is very slow. His attacks are easy to predict, and the dodge window is much wider than in other battles I’ve had in this game. After attacking, the boss freezes for a few seconds with his back to you, which allows you to deal increased damage.
In this battle, I didn’t use my ultimate ability because I simply didn’t have it. If I had, this opponent would have fallen much faster. Overall, it was interesting to fight the boss and defeat him on the first try. It’s great that the game has both long, exhausting battles and quick victories, as this prevents frustration and keeps you motivated to continue.

Final Thoughts and What’s Next
I have a feeling that this game will cause me a lot of suffering with other bosses, but that wasn’t the case here. Mezuki gave me immense pleasure because the fight was easy, especially compared to my battle with Jakotsu-baba, which was really difficult for me. So I’m glad Mezuki is so forgiving. Let’s see what happens next.
