Insatiable Hunger is a side quest in Nioh 3 that is not mandatory to complete. But if you do complete it, you will receive a small reward, Samurai Points, and a satisfying victory over an interesting but easy boss. It’s the perfect way to take a break from the game’s difficult enemies. I also recommend reading another article where I show a strategy for defeating the boss Jakotsu-baba.

Insatiable Hunger start

On the map, you can see the location where the Insatiable Hunger quest begins in Nioh 3. Here you will find a spirit who will start this side quest. You need to talk to him to start this task and receive the final reward at the end. It will be a Paralysis Omamori trinket separately for ninjas and samurai, as well as one Samurai Point.

Enemy Base

Next, you will see the location where the quest continues. When you arrive at this settlement, you will see that the Enemy Base is located here. First, you must defeat seven enemies to clear the area and continue exploring this region. There are no difficult enemies here, they are all scattered around, you can easily deal with them, just enjoy how quickly you defeat them.

Codama Merit

After that, I suggest you find the well, which is located on the left side of the settlement when viewed from the entrance. You will find it behind the buildings. The well is a landmark. Behind it, you will see a large red chest with treasures and a small Kodama. Show him the way home to get +10 Kodama Merit. After that, open the chest.

Head to the ferry

You can still explore the settlement on your own and collect a few rewards around, but in order to complete the quest, you need to find this place. From the center of the settlement, you can see the entrance to one of the buildings. You have to crouch down to get inside. Here you interact with the object and receive the continuation of the quest. To do this, you need to go to another location nearby.

Gaki Chief boss fight

You can see the location on the map. It is nearby. Here, you will face a battle with the boss Gaki Chief. This creature looks terrifying due to its size and scary red eyes. But in reality, it is a very easy opponent. I am sure you will defeat it on your first try. If you are at a distance, Gaki Chief will start pulling huge rocks out of the ground and throwing them at you. At close range, he swings his arms widely and slams them on the ground. I usually play in ninja mode, so I used up all my throwing items on the enemy from a distance.

These are kunai, shuriken, and the Uncanny Bolt skill. At this stage, I noticed that the enemy’s stamina quickly disappears if you damage him, but also quickly recovers if he does not take damage. Therefore, I decided to immediately use my ultimate ability and deal as much damage to the enemy as possible. You don’t even need to come up with special attacks here, just spam your attacks and the Gaki Chief’s stamina will drop to zero.

After that, the boss will fall and assume a very indecent pose. This is your chance to inflict the most painful punishment on him. Of course, you can do the most damage from behind. There was very little left to destroy the enemy, and I decided to throw projectiles at him again until the enemy recovered.

When you use your ultimate ability, all kunai and shuriken are restored, and the boss has very little health left, so victory is guaranteed. Now you can collect the loot from the boss. You may have seen a purple glow nearby, which indicates a battle with another boss, but that’s a topic for a separate video. Just don’t start this battle with another boss if you’re not ready for it. At the very least, you need to restore your ultimate ability.

Insatiable Hunger rewards

After defeating Gaki Chief, the spirit who started the Insatiable Hunger quest will appear here, and after talking to him, you will complete this additional task and receive a reward.
