The Peerless Katana quest begins in the Shichijo region during the Bakumatsu period in Nioh 3. Let me start by saying that at the end of this quest, you will receive the Mibu Temple key, which will grant you access to the location where the boss Okita Soji is located. But before that, I recommend watching the video where I explain how to defeat the boss Nuribotoke.
Nioh 3 Peerless Katana quest
You need to approach Takasugi Shinsaku and talk to him. Then just follow him to the next location. You will arrive at a place nearby, where you will receive a new task: Defeat the yokai in the area. There are no difficult enemies here. You will complete it quickly and without any problems. After that, you need to talk to Takasugi Shinsaku again, and after the conversation, the task will be updated.
Pursue the Shinsengumi
To complete the next task, Pursue the Shinsengumi, you need to go to Nijo Castle. I have shown you the meeting place with Takasugi Shinsaku in this location on the map. You will have another conversation with this character, and then open the large gate and go inside.

Nioh 3 Nagakura Shinpachi boss fight
Inside, you will face a battle with the boss Nagakura Shinpachi. He will be accompanied by two regular soldiers. You can focus on them first or leave that task to your partner and attack the boss right away. Nagakura Shinpachi is vulnerable to any magic, so you will need all your active skills here. In general, the enemy is not difficult, but he can perform powerful series of attacks and destroy you, so I try not to approach this boss for close combat and carry out all attacks from a distance. The Thundering Calamity skill and the fire shuriken are particularly effective. The Demon of Envy skill also deals good damage to the boss.
When I run out of Ninja Tools, I attack the enemy with magical shots of wind and water. You can also use fire charges. The main thing is to watch when the enemy starts blocking your shots and pause so as not to waste magic with low efficiency. This is how we gradually bring the battle to an end. When you manage to make a perfect dodge, the throwing items are restored and you can deal even more damage to the boss.
In most cases, the boss is distracted by close combat with your partner, so you can use all the long-range shots you have. I also decided to summon Bloodedge Demon and Enanra in turn to deal additional damage to Nagakura Shinpachi, as well as set him on fire if possible so that he would receive additional damage from the debuff.
Then I just stand at a distance and use magic shots to finish the battle. I don’t think there is an easier tactic for this battle. The boss didn’t attack me at all during the fight. After defeating Nagakura Shinpachi, you need to talk to Takasugi Shinsaku. You will receive a reward for this task, as well as completing the Peerless Katana quest.
