Here’s how to wipe out an entire group of enemies at the beginning of the game. You’ll improve your skills over time, but I can give you a few tips to make Crimson Desert a lot more enjoyable. This is the perfect guide for beginners, explaining what to do in the first few hours of the game and how to create a very powerful character.

Crimson Desert beginner tips

Don’t hurry to complete the main questline after defeating two scoundrels. You can already collect some of the surprises that are waiting for you. You can return to this location if you have already completed the first part of the game. I’ve marked it on the map. Turn around and head in the direction that I am pointing. You’ll find a hidden cave after crossing two streams. You can find some useful items in this cave, so let’s enter.

Palmar Pill Recipe Crimson Desert

This cave is at the beginning of the game so you won’t be able to find any super cool items, but it does have a few useful things. You need to first pick up two Palmar Pills. You can respawn in the battle if you have 30% health left. It’s very helpful at the beginning of the game when you don’t have a full grasp on the combat mechanics. You can also find a recipe that allows you to make these pills in the future. Everything else can be sold later to make some money.

Crimson Desert Abyss Nexus

Take what you need. Here, the most valuable items are the crystal and the jars that you can find on the table. The cave is not worth much, so you shouldn’t try to collect everything. When you leave the cave, turn left. You’ll notice a strange structure as you walk along the wall. The Abyss nexus is a portal which will let you quickly reach this location. Once you have completed the quest “Abyss Without Balance“, you will be able to teleport between these two points.

Fishing Rod and Dual Bekker Axe

You’ll have to cross two small streams once more if you want to return back where you fought with the two soldiers. You can find a fishing pole here. You can get a fishing rod late for a very low price. But if you decide to go fishing in the future, you will already have one. It won’t be wasted. You’ll see a little farther past the fishing pole a stump that has a piece meat on it. Next to it you will find the Bekker Axe.

This is a good weapon with which to begin the game. Then, go back to the correct spot. Follow the man uphill and, when he gets to the horses, turn right instead of mounting the horse. You’ll also find more food, and another Bekker Axe. You can now use two battleaxes simultaneously. This is a powerful offensive strategy early in the game.

Crimson Desert Sealed Abyss Artifact

You can now mount your horse, and follow your guide towards the first settlement. You will cross a beautiful, large bridge. Look to your right at the end of this bridge. You’ll notice a puzzle in the distance with a statue and 2 candles. You can find the answer to this puzzle, as well as the reward that comes with it, on my YouTube channel. This isn’t important at the beginning of the game. Let’s continue, and you should note the makeshift temple on your left, halfway to the settlement. You can also find your first Sealed Abyss Artifact in this area. Nearby, you can find a shield. I use it only occasionally.

My character is usually offensive at first, with two axes to maximize efficiency. You’ll receive a challenge as soon as you pick up a Sealed Abyss Artifact. You’ll receive an Abyss Artifact if you successfully complete the challenge. You’ll need this currency to upgrade your stats and abilities. This is a very useful currency.

You can equip two axes using the equipment wheel instead of just an axe and shield. Now your attacks are twice as strong. Early on, you won’t require the shield. Later on, you’ll be able to change your gear.

Character’s personal chest in Crimson Desert

The next location is very important. You’ll see it on the map and need to remember it. Here is your camp. In the tent is a bed, where you can sleep and speed up the time of the game. Here is also a chest, which is very important. Here you can store items that you don’t want to carry around with you. This is a large storage area. You’ll return to this area more than once in the early stages.

Bell tower in Crimson Desert

You’ll recognize the next location if you have played a previous game in the series Assassin’s Creed. You’ll find a bell-tower on the mini map. This tower unlocks a large portion of the map. Climb to the top of the tower and ring the Bell. You can zoom out to see the surroundings. When the map is opened, you will notice the mysterious fog has vanished.

Story-driven quests

You can now explore Crimson Desert much more easily. Next, I suggest you complete a few quests. Do what the story tells you to do. You will receive rewards when you complete simple quests. This game will also help you to get better at character control and navigation. You can take a break after the quest to bring home a lost lamb and find it. I recommend you perform the following character boost.

Blacksmith in Crimson Desert

Meet the local blacksmith. You can find his location on the map. You can upgrade your gear and weapons here. Hernand Refinement Tokens can be obtained by completing quests. You can upgrade any item by giving the token to the blacksmith. You won’t find many. You can instead see which materials you’ll need to upgrade weapons and armor. Iron Ore and copper Ore are essential.

Farm Iron and Copper Ore in Crimson Desert

You can find these materials south of your first settlement. You can either buy a pickaxe in town, or you can earn one through completing quests. Select the pickaxe from the wheel of items and equip it to an inventory slot. Follow the path up the mountain to gather resources.

This spot will always respawn resources after a time, so you can come back to collect more. It’s easy: just find a place that is clearly visible, and then use the pickaxe on the deposits to collect the resources. Spend a few minutes on this and your character will be boosted at the beginning of the game.

Character’s starting boost in Crimson Desert

You know what to do. You’re right, go to the blacksmith again and upgrade all your weapons and armor. You can upgrade your armor right away by buying some better gear outside the blacksmith. This armor is not expensive and only useful for the beginning of the game. The upgrades that you will make in the future won’t cost much.

After you have done this, your character should be able to pass the first trials. With just two basic attacks, you’ll be able charge into a group of enemies to wipe them out. This is more than enough for a start.

Abyss Artifacts in Crimson Desert

The red buildings on the map are the next thing I’d like to discuss. The red buildings on the map indicate that an area has been occupied by bandits. It’s best to always free these areas because they are full of enemies that you can kill without mercy. You will gain experience by doing this. Attention to the bar at the left of the mini map. As you defeat enemies it fills and you gain more experience. This is not just important, it’s essential.

As you progress and fill the bar, you will receive an Abyss Artifact that allows you to improve your stats and learn new skills. You’ll later be able learn powerful skills which will make your character invincible. Keep an eye on the crosses appearing on your mini-map when you defeat enemies. You can grab loot if you see the crosses. Some items are just for sale while others contain very useful materials and items. Do not forget to do this.

Crimson Desert Character Stats Window

You’ll want to start by leveling up your character, so that you can unlock powerful abilities. Let’s also talk briefly about skills. You need to first level up stamina and your health. It is important to do this. You can only learn new skills if you have the right tools.

I hope you enjoy these tips. You’ll be able to explore the world of Crimson Desert after completing this tutorial.
